Dr. Burgess is the chief researcher for B.R.A.G. Burgess has an impressive action-oriented history. He is an author, elected official and an outstanding educator. Gary has influenced and overseen the turnabout of schools and communities.
He has been honored as the Secondary Principal of the Year for South Carolina, and he was named a Milken National Educator. He has received numerous other prestigious honors and appointments. Gary is highlighted in the HOPE (Harnessing Optimism and Potential through Education) Foundation video series entitled, “Failure is not an Option.” He speaks on the local, state, regional, national and international circuit. Gary was recognized by his alma mater, Wofford College, as the school's Distinguished Young Alumnus, the first African-American to receive this award.
